The portrait on your wall should tell a story — not just show your faces.

Lifestyle sessions photographed so the people you love are seen and remembered the way they actually are.

Years spent as a journalist in this region, sitting with people and asking them questions.

01

One session, planned around your family — not a template applied to it.

Finished artwork, printed and framed for a wall — not files you mean to print one day.

You deserve a portrait you actually love.

Most people have never seen a photograph of themselves they liked. They worry the kids won't cooperate, that they won't know what to do with their hands, that the whole thing will feel stiff and end up in a drawer.

That isn't how this works. We plan the session around your family. I guide you through every part of it — where to stand, what to do, when to stop trying. Nobody is left to figure it out alone.

What you walk away with is a piece of art for your home. Something your children will take down off the wall one day and keep.

A finished piece, hung where the family walks past it.
The finished work

A photograph isn't finished until it's on a wall.

Digital files sit on a drive and quietly disappear. A print doesn't. It hangs in a hallway, gets walked past ten times a day, and becomes part of how a family remembers itself.

So we finish the job. We choose the images together, I have them printed properly, and the work arrives framed and ready to hang.

How a session goes

Three steps. No surprises, and nothing you need to prepare for on your own.

01

We talk first

Who's in the picture, what they're like, where it will hang. I ask a lot of questions — it's the part of the old job I never gave up.

02

We photograph

At home, or somewhere that means something to you. I direct the whole way through, and the kids are allowed to be kids.

03

We choose and print

We sit down with the images and pick the ones worth keeping. Then they're printed, framed and delivered.

About

I spent my career writing about people.

For more than twenty-five years I worked as a journalist in this region — sitting with people, asking questions, listening to what they'd been through and writing it down as plainly as I could.

This work follows the same habit. I photograph families, couples and individuals in Kamloops by looking for the story first — who these people are to each other, and how they want to be remembered. The camera comes second.

If that's the kind of work you've been looking for, I'd like to hear from you.
